Tina is a contemporary British artist working from her Dorset studio near the south coast of England. Inspired by the land and seascape that surrounds her in Dorset and in Cornwall, her home county, Peacock explores the connection between place, memories and human relationships. Translating the geological processes observed through abstraction, she builds layer upon layer of paint, ink or dry media using brushes, found objects, her hands, or a squeegee. Peacock links naturally occurring weathering and geological processes in nature such as coastal erosion with the dynamics that exist in our relationships with others. The fragile threads that bind us. The solid feeling of safety and security that can weaken over time to the point of collapse. Contemplating the subject of memory, grief, and the complexity of human relationships, Peacock's painting is a reflection of life, love and the natural world, often juxtaposing light and darkness. This is expressed in an explosion of colour or monochrome, layer upon layer, just like memories. She wants the viewer to feel as deeply as she does.
