In the Garden Orchard of Hera, Queen Greek godess, live the Hesperides, beautiful nymphs. Also known as the Western Maidens and Daughters of Evening. They guarded the golden apples of Hera and were in turn guarded by a multi-headed serpent dragon, Ladon. I wanted to combine the three female figures and the multiheaded dragon into one piece to give the feeling that they act in union to guard the orchard. Unlike the Princess figure the Hesperides are in league with the Dragon figure. This piece forms a section of the narrative series 'George and the Dragon', a backstory of the traditional monster dragon.
Unframed, limited edition giclee print on museum etching Hannemule paper, fine art printed via The Artist Print Room. Signed and numbered on the front. Print from original ink drawing.
