Samson and Delilah, a Hand Illustrated Ceramic Plate, offers a fresh perspective on the classic tale of Samson and Delilah, challenging the traditional narrative that casts Delilah as the villain. The artwork reimagines Delilah not as the betrayer but as a victim trapped and constrained by Samson's strength, symbolised by his long hair. Here, Delilah is depicted as tangled and bound within the locks of Samson, portraying her need to escape the overpowering hold of Samson. This interpretation invites viewers to consider the story from a different angle, where Delilah's actions might be seen as an attempt to liberate herself from a confining situation. The plate is handmade and hand-illustrated, adding a personal and intricate touch to this re-envisioned story.
The artwork will be packed by Charlotte Easingwood, and orders are typically shipped within 48 hours of being accepted.
As part of our Artwork Protection Guarentee, once the order has been delivered, buyers will have 48 hours to request any returns for the reasons stated in our Returns policy.
Charlotte Easingwood is a multi disciplinary Artist from Hinckley, Leicestershire. After receiving a BA in Contemporary Crafts at Falmouth university she concentrated on her ceramic work building a reputation for her Neolithic inspired home ware. Moving back to her home town in 2018 she opened a new studio "The Pottery Pit" and began to focus on sharing her skills with others and enabling other creative people to explore hand building with clay. 2020 has been a turning point for Charlotte's work with the unfortunate Lockdown of the UK allowing more space for her own studio practice. This has lead to a new body of work with stronger narrative and emotional reflections.
