The moment when a decision has to be made: what should the villagers do about the rogue dragon? In this painting the village elder is poised beside the corpse of the final sheep to be eaten. They no longer have sheep left to feed the rampaging dragon and make the next decision leading to the ultimate fight between George and The Dragon. In the background a mother cradles her baby in the doorway, considering the implications the decision will have.
Painting on an Artist Surfaces professional grade aluminum supported wooden panel this oil painting uses bold colours and abstracted, reduced forms to convey a narrative. Part of the 'Dragon Beyond Saint George' series.
