Highway Anxiety
This is a painting based on one of my frequent walks in the edgelands landscape, the liminal, unexplored spaces between city and countryside, in the home of the West Midlands. This painting is based on a walk beneath the motorway of Spaghetti Junction, trying to seek some peace beneath the concrete and heavy traffic above and the canal beside me. I try and represent an almost dreamlike quality in the paintings in my explorations of colour and form.
