The piece is part of a Red Hedge triptych from my Communion series - a journey through nature and mood, whereby I took walks in the deep Devon countryside to explore the effects of nature on feelings experienced in the seasons of winter and spring.
The scene depicts both my own and each branch of the Dogwood hedge's enthusiastic reach for the light and warmth of the sun on a cold Winter's day.
