Artwork Description
_The Stone Saw, Randwick_ was inspired by a building site where work had begun on excavating a massive bench of sandstone, the geological underpinnings of Sydney, for an extension to the original house. Such places of actual transformation naturally suggest more metaphysical sorts of change to me, and the graphical possibilities of messy construction sites are a standing invitation to artists. The painterly qualities of the subject matter in strong afternoon light needed little alteration from the reference photo. The framed image shown in this listing is a half-size print. The work is sold at its full, 70 x 70 cm size. Please visit https://quarryman655082795.wordpress.com/ to see high-quality images of my works.
