Joyful Rapture

This piece is inspired by my time in theatre and music. I grew up playing in some very good brass bands. I was very privileged to have such rich experiences of connection from a young age.

Some of my most vivid memories from my childhood was playing music competitions, and the experience of being in a flow state with almost 30 other people at the same time. It’s truly a very magical experience.

Everyone is tuned in and moving as one. I remember the feeling of perfect chords vibrating through my body. 

The flow state for me could be explained as a state of complete surrender to doing. There is no thinking, you become one with what you’re doing, and it flows through you.

There is something extra special when you share this experience with other people. It is truly one of the most beautiful experiences you can have.
