This painting is part of a collection that explores the juxtaposition of fear and freedom....and embracing change, honesty and new beginnings.
Carrying on with theme of Freedom and Fear I always had ‘fear’ of drawing and since I started painting once again in 2015 I always said I couldn’t draw. This painting, one of many to come, is me challenging that fear and putting down a figurative image onto canvas.
I have used bright red over various washes of blue, grey, red and yellow. Acrylic paint, charcoal, gold leaf and spray paint have been used.
My titles are generally quite significant to what is happening in my life at the time or experiences I’ve had that are still fresh in my memory and my every day journey to try and process them. A lot of my work, I suppose, symbolises turning something good from the bad. 'BLINDING LIGHT’ symbolises this.
