Ferg Cooper is a visual artist working primarily in painting, drawing and photography. His 'Queer Pop Art' is rooted in queer theory, and mashes elements of life drawing with horror themes and tropes of comic book aesthetics. Pulling on visual influences from Francis Bacon and David Hockney, via Freddy Kruger and Chucky, through the lens of John Waters and dialogue by Paris Hilton. Often combining drawings and photos of idealised male bodies with a bold palette and cartoon imagery, his works talk about Queer existence in a heteronormative society, In 2017 Ferg graduated from an MA in Fine Art at Central Saint Martins, London. In 2018 he completed a year long residency at the Florence Trust, in 2019 was part of Plop residency, and in 2020/21 was part of the inaugural panel for political art fund 'ArtCry' He has exhibited widely in the UK and has done design work for club nights and record sleeves. His studio is at Bow Arts, London
