This mandala piece mirrors itself in the style of yin and yang with one half being black acrylic painted on a white background, and its mirror being silver pen drawn onto black acrylic paint. I wanted this piece to explore the idea of balance, how something exactly the same can appear so different. The piece is fairly small and intricately painted but from a distance, bold and eye catching. I have drawn everything free hand so if you are looking for prefect symmetry, you've come to the wrong place! I have created this piece with care and attention to detail purposely only using the classic representation of a black and white yin and yang as an inspiration.

That being said, if you are looking for perfect shapes and symmetry, you've come to the wrong place! I love to create my art freehand, so often things aren't perfect and equal and I love it! I use both acrylic paint and pens and love creating things with colour with a sprinkling of silver and gold details.
