My work explores the fleeting beauty of everyday life, capturing the essence of remembrance and transience. I delve into the quiet narratives of forgotten – a discarded toy, a wilting flower, a tarnished antique, discarded traditional pottery. Through my art I record parts of the history, and the current state for the generations to come. I employ a sculptural approach to oil painting, building up layers of paint to create a sense of depth and texture. Drawing inspiration from the Old Masters, I utilize chiaroscuro to illuminate the subtle nuances of form and create a dramatic interplay of light and shadow. Through these seemingly mundane objects, I invite the viewer to contemplation and introspection, encouraging a deeper appreciation for the beauty and significance of the everyday.
